We are a pair of friendly, busy, independent bike shops in London.
You are a dedicated, hard-working and experienced mechanic, who wants to join our team.

US:

The London Cycle Workshop has been established for over six years and has gained an excellent
reputation for servicing and repairing bikes to the highest standard. We are a friendly local shop and have built up a strong rapport with our customers for our honest advise and customer service. We have two locations, Wandsworth SW11 and Hammersmith W6.

THE JOB: Recruiting Bike Mechanics

We are looking for dedicated, hard working and experienced mechanics to join our team. The role is that of mechanic, although you will also be required to double up as a sales assistant, advising and
recommending products on the shop floor, so a familiarity with current parts and accessories is essential. Part of the role of mechanic is to book bikes into the workshop, so the ability to thoroughly assess workshop jobs and offer advice is pivotal to the role. We are looking for candidates willing to develop their skills, training will be provided however prior workshop and retail experience is essential.

Hours will be spread over five days to include one weekend day and possibly a mix of hours at both shops. We are flexible with working hours.

THE PERSON:

The candidate should possess proven skill and experience as a mechanic, along with great communication skills. Excellent customer service skills are important to maintain and improve relations with the customers, and to ensure we excel when it comes to expectations. We have worked hard to build a strong reputation as a friendly, talented and reliable workshop, and these values need to be upheld and built upon. The ability to work as part of a team, and adapt to a changing work load is essential. Basic IT skills along with excellent written and spoken English are requirements for the role, Cytech level 2 or equivalent and above a bonus.

Must have:

Previous experience as a mechanic.
Retail experience in the bike trade.
A passion for bikes…

The London Cycle Workshop opened in 2009, on St John’s Hill in Battersea, with one bike mechanic. Last year, we opened our second shop on King Street in Hammersmith, and now we are a small team of friendly bike enthusiasts. We have earned a great local reputation for repairing bikes to the highest standard, and for our customer care – we share honest advice and will lend a pump, to every cyclist who visits our shops.

THE JOB:Recruiting Bike Mechanics

Bike Mechanic. Full Time. One position open at both our shops. Bike workshop and retail experience is essential. Working hours are flexible, and spread over five days, including one weekend day.  You will be working directly with customers, from booking bikes into the workshop, to answering the phone. You must be familiar with current bike parts and accessories, to advise and recommend products from the shop floor. We are known as a talented, reliable and friendly workshop, so if you can help us continue this good work, we welcome your application.

YOU ARE:

A skilled and experienced bike mechanic, with great communication skills. A team player, with the ability to adapt to a changing workload. Confident in the assessment of workshop jobs, and all aspects of bike repairs, you are always willing to develop your skills. Basic IT skills, excellent written and spoken English, are requirements for this job. Cytech Level 2 (or equivalent) or above, is a bonus.
