Welcome to the website of The London Cycle Workshop, and a very happy new year to all customers past present and future!

Over the Christmas period we were shut between Christmas and New Years to give the shop a smart new re-fit. We have pulled down the old suspended ceiling to take it back up to it’s original full height. This meant installing new lighting which gives the shop a warm and welcoming feel, (not that it wasn’t warm and welcoming before mind!). We have done away with a counter and have replaced it with a simple workbench at the back of the shop which adds to the new sense of space, and have build a series of glass display cabinets to display stock. A series of small changes really have made a huge difference. See the pics below…

Shop from the front door

Shop from the workshop

Work counter and display cabinets

It was a good few days of hard work from The London Cycle Workshop team, including family members and flat mates! A big thank you for all of your efforts, we couldn’t have done it without the team effort! And a thank you also to St. John’s Hill lighting for supplying the lighting fixtures and giving us advice, (website here).

Updating and upgrading the shop is a never ending process as we strive to make The London Cycle Workshop the best independent local bike repair shop it possibly can be. It’s getting there! And as with the shop we are constantly adding to the array of parts and accessories that can be found in the shop. Check in to see what’s new including the rotating displays in the display cabinets. As always, we value the feedback and comments of our customers to make sure we are in touch with their needs.

Shop fitting aside, it has been business as usual so far in 2012 with the workshop staying steadily busy every day. The workshop procedure and prices are all the same for 2012 and more details can be found on the workshop page of this website. We have also been doing more and more custom bike builds of all shapes and sizes, check out the gallery page for some pictures of the most recent builds.

With January has come a shop milestone, as of the 2nd of January we had been open and trading for a whole two years. It may be young in bike shop terms but it means a great deal to all of us that work here and strive to continually make it better and better as a shop. And of course, that means a big thank you to all of our customers for their continued support, after all without you we couldn’t have got this far.

Well that’s all for now, back to work. More to follow soon. And do drop by to see the new look shop, we are very proud!

Is for sale. After much procrastination Nick has decided that he wants to sell the Mash frameset, and buy a steel frameset he can fit two brakes to along with full fitting mudguards to use as a Winter training bike. It is, as you can imagine, a reluctant sale. The beauty of the Mash frameset speaks for itself. There are a couple of pictures below, or pop by the shop to see it in the flesh, (it is hanging, as it usually does, in the window).

Mash frameset side view

Nick is offering it for sale as a Frame, Fork, Columbus headset, Easton EC70 seatpost and a Powerplay stem. Asking price £550. Further details including geometry information can be found on Cinelli’s officail website, or by popping in for a chat!

It has been a while since we gave the website a really good update so it’s time for a good catch up.

Firstly we should point out that this post is not the only thing that is new here at The London Cycle Workshop website. We have been through all of the pages and given everything a good update including the workshop page, the about us page, the gallery, (many new pictures of custom builds), and we have added a new links page which will expand over time. We are also working on a stock page as we have opened many new supplier accounts giving us access to many more excellent cycling brands, (more below).

It has been a very busy summer season here at The London Cycle Workshop, we have serviced and repaired literally thousands of bikes, it’s been crazy! At the same time we have been making constant repairs and upgrades to the shop, including a good sort out in the workshop to create more space, a new design counter to create more space in the shop, and more display wall space on the shop floor so we can continue to add new stock to the shop.

New and improved services we have been offering in the shop over the last few months include bike box hire for taking your bike on an aeroplane, (see the bike box hire page), and investing in an unbelievably good parts washer. This means we can now offer what we think is the very best drivechain de-greasing service in the whole of London, (bold claim, we know), and a really good ‘commuting service’ which includes a general service and a drivechain de-grease, (see the workshop page and price list for more details).

Our stock levels have continued to grow this year as we have added some new brands to our portfolio. These include: Abus locks, Cateye lights and cycle computers, Tortec pannier racks, Altura pannier bags and clothing in addition to Endura, BikeParka which are the best bike covers we have seen, (see the link from the links page for more information), Smile and Pass it on greetings cards and mugs, (just for fun), and Mavic wheels parts and accessories, (a really exciting new addition for us for their excellent wheels, now in stock). Over the summer we also became a Fi’zi:k and Selle Italia saddle test centre. This means you can borrow saddles from us for no charge to test which one is best for you. Pop in for a chat or more information.

Fi'zi:k and Selle Italia test saddles

Mavic wheels including the Ksyrium Elite

Lastly, we have purchased a shop Garmin so that we can plan some road rides. We opted for the Edge 800, all singing all dancing model with the excellent colour touch screen. It is an impressive piece of kit, everytime we use it we find some new features! The idea has always been to plan a ride and invite you, our customers, to come and join us so watch the website for a ‘rides’ page in the future. For now, when we are going out we will probably tweet to invite you along! Also, if any of you have any rides you would like to share then please e-mail us over the Garmin Connect link.

Right that’s it for this update. Please check back for future updates and news on The London Cycle Workshop webpage, we will be making a more concerted effort to keep it up to date including new pages for stock and rides as mentioned. Thank you as always to our customers for their continued support of this shop, we have only been able to grow it and improve it with your help and feedback.

Picture courtesy of dark cycle clothing!

Stop press!

One last piece of news. The London Cycle Workshop is now happy to offer all members of local cycling club Clapham Chasers 10% discount on parts, repairs and servicing. As cyclists as well as mechanics we are always happy to support local clubs and teams. We already offer an array of services from bike box hire, to drivechain de-greasing, general repairs and full services, parts and accessories, and all available seven days a week with workshop jobs turned around same day depending on parts.

Well, first thing’s first…

We are very proud to say that The London Cycle Workshop has survived the all important first year! It’s been a long year full of ups and downs, (mainly ups we’re pleased to say) and with the support of the local community and fellow cyclists along with a growing following of loyal customers, The London Cycle Workshop has become a permanent fixture of St. John’s Hill.

Those of you who were with us from the start, or have been following these updates, will have seen quite a transformation over the months. When we first started we had no money left for stock so the shop looked a bit thin. As the year has gone by and we have met and talked to our customers, we have been adding more and more stock to the shelves week after week. In fact we are already running out of room!

Probably the biggest addition to the shop was the recruitment of Nick as a second full time bike mechanic. This also meant re-designing the workshop to make space for a second workstand and set of tools, (to which we also add to week after week – a guilty pleasure of ours!). This has enabled us to keep up with the growing demand for bike servicing and repairs.

The vat increase and its impact on prices.

We, like all others have been affected by the recent increase in vat. Throughout January we froze our prices on both stock and labour rates. We have decided that the stock we had in hand as of the vat increase will stay at the marked price. New stock will be priced at the new recommended retail price, which has crept up a bit. The prices for labour will stay as they are, (a full menu of which can be found on the Workshop page), and we will review them later in the year. We really want to keep the labour rates as they are more or less, as we think we have got them about right, reflecting the time it takes and the complexity of each job. And, to be frank, we have seen the high prices some shops charge for jobs and it seems unfair.

The shop and stock.

The first priority for us when we opened was just making it through year one. Now we can tick that off, year two will be about improving the shop space we have including the workshop, and increasing the range of products we have on the shop floor. This will mean opening new supplier accounts and creating more display space in the shop. So far, almost all of the accessories and clothing we have in the shop are there because we have listened to what our customers would like to see in their local shop. In a shop our size it would be impossible to please all of the people all of the time, but we try our best to try and find a good balance. As always, feedback is greatly appreciated.

In order to use the shop space we have more efficiently we will be carrying out some shop alterations including building a new shop counter and installing an additional work bench in the workshop. Please bare with us if the next time you visit the shop looks a bit messy during these improvements!

The workshop.

As mentioned above, the workshop, as with the shop, is growing and improving every week. We are constantly adding new tools and expanding the amount of parts we can keep in stock for repairs. It is hard to express just how many different parts there are for bikes, and it would be almost impossible to have everything at hand all of the time, try as we might. We aim to complete each repair job within a day, depending on parts. No work will be carried out without either it being agreed upon when the bike is dropped off, or after a telephone call to explain. Every bike service and most repairs are completed with a full hand written workshop receipt detailing the work undertaken and a full breakdown of costs.

As many of you will know, we don’t run a diary or appointment system here at The London Cycle Workshop. You can bring your bike in for servicing or repair at your convenience, we will have a look at the bike with you and then agree on the work that needs to be carried out and the deadline for collection. We are flexible when it comes to storage BUT we are also a small shop with limited storage so we are always grateful when a bike is collected on the day that been agreed. We really don’t want to ever turn any customer away because we don’t have the room to store their bike so please help us by collecting yours on time!

We also carry out many repairs, including puncture repairs, while you wait. There is seating for waiting customers and normally a selection of reading material on the counter!

On a personal note…
Both Nick and Simon are building up new road bikes for 2011 as we both want to get out and do more longer distance cycling. Well, what is actually happening is a lot of procrastination regarding groupsets and so on, (Campag vs Sram vs Shimano etc) but by the end of March if not sooner they should be together and ready to go! We are both cyclists for the love of cycling and don’t take it too seriously, but at the same time we are both serious about getting out on the bikes more.

Ambitiously perhaps, what we want to do is form a bit of a shop cycling club so we can go out cycling with some of our customers. We plan to get some jerseys made up and would like to go out once a fortnight if not once a week. I start this paragraph with ‘ambitiously’ not because we lack the dedication to make it happen, more because the shop keeps us pretty busy and time seems to be flying by already! What we will do is put up a sign up list in the shop so if you would like to come cycling with us, leave us your e-mail address and we can keep you updated.

In fact, it will be our London Cycle Workshop shop team cycle route organiser extraordinaire, Jim ‘Every Gram Counts’ Dutton, who is in charge of planning! Well done Jim.

Right, that’s all folks… drop back for future updates of which there will be more this year!

Well December has come round and for us it has been business as usual, all be it a bit quieter than the months gone by with the chilly weather and ice and snow on the ground.

The first thing to say is well done to all of you that have battled on cycling through the unseasonably cold weather of late. With ice and snow on the ground it can be pretty hairy cycling, so please be careful out there. Make sure you wrap up warm and make yourself as visible as possible when cycling this time of year. With the dark mornings and early evenings, making sure you are visible to other road users is essential. Reflective wear and a good set of lights are a must, and keep an eye out for black ice on the roads.

Since the drop in temperature we have noticed a predictable down turn in trade, as many shops will have this time of year. We have been stocking the shop ready for winter, with lots of lights, reflectives, winter tyres, (please ask for advice), and winter clothing. Our clothing company, Endura, is based in Scotland and they have been struggling to keep up with deliveries the last couple of weeks due to the weather. Sorry to all of you who have come in to find the item you are looking for is out of stock.

January the Second marks a years trading for us, and to say thank you we will be having a first Birthday party at GJ’s in Wandsworth on Saturday the 15th. There will be live music, a band and dj’s, a hog roast in the garden, (don’t forget your gloves!), and a complimentary drink on arrival for all of our customers! Please ask in the shop for an invite, all are welcome, the more the merrier!

It’s been an amazing first year for us here at The London Cycle Workshop, far exceeding our expectations. We are so grateful for the support we have received from the local residents and cyclists, without you none of this would have been possible. We started with almost nothing in the shop, and have been able to stock it according to feedback and requests from the customers we have met, meaning it has been the customers who have shaped the shop, (with our guidance!).

During Christmas and New Years we will be trying to catch up with a few diy jobs in the shop, finishing off a bit of work in the workshop and the storeroom. If the shop looks a bit messy during this time, please bear with us. And speaking of the Christmas and New Year period, here are our opening hours:

December 24th Christmas Eve, Open 0900 to 1300.

December 25th Christmas Day, Closed.

December 26th Boxing Day, Closed.

December 27th Bank Holiday Monday, Closed.

December 28th Bank Holiday Tuesday, Closed.

December 29th, Open 0900 – 1730.

December 30th, Open 0900 – 1730.

December 31st New Years Eve, Open 0900 – 1300.

January 1st New Years Day, Closed.

January 2nd, (Our official 1st Anniversary) Open as usual.

We will still be available throughout via e-mail, info@TheLondonCycleWorkshop.co.uk.

Well, that’s it for now, more to come in a few weeks. Keep Warm!

Well, we’re not sure how it happened but we find ourselves in November all of a sudden. And as usual we have been a bit slow to update the website so there is plenty to tell…

Workshop.

After a quiet spell in August when all of our local customers vacated the area to go on holiday, the workshop is back to being steadily busy. We have been making constant improvements to the workshop including purchasing ever more tools, (a secret passion of ours is tool shopping!), and stocking ever more parts. This run up to the winter is a ideal time to get your trusty commuter serviced ready for the season that is the hardest on the bicycle

Not having a booking system is working out well, with most repair jobs completed the same day depending on parts. And the courtesy bikes are getting more and more use, (we better get them ready for Winter too…). For those of you that don’t know, the courtesy bikes are free of charge for our service customers. The idea is that you can drop your bike in for a service, (open from 7am), borrow a bike and collect yours at the end of the day, (open until 7pm).

Tyres.

We stock an ever growing selection of tyres for all usages. Whether you are looking for lightweight sports tyres or puncture resistant commuting tyres we will have a few different options for you to consider. Sticking to the two biggest manufacturers in the industry, Schwalbe and Continental, we have an indepth product knowledge and are more than happy to advise you of the best choice for your needs. Please ask for help in store, (sizing alone can be a minefield!).

We are very happy to report that we now have a local company recycling our used tyres. As a business operating in what is considered to be a green industry, we take the disposal and recycling of our rubbish seriously. Tyres are taken to a yard in Garratt lane, (by bike), shredded and mixed with asphalt to produce a durable material to lay on motorways. Although we are very keen on recycling as much of our rubbish as possible, there is a price to pay of £1 per tyre. Therefore, all of the prices you see on the tyres in the shop include a contribution to this cost. If you are happy to take your old tyres home with you, (although you will have to recycle them yourself as tyres cannot go into landfill under a EU directive…), we will offer you a small discount to subtract this surcharge. We hope you as customers can see the fairness of this decision and support our efforts to recycle wherever possible?

Prices.

In anticipation of the vat rise in January, some of our suppliers have recently put their prices up more by more that they usually do this time of year. To remain competitive and fair, we have frozen the prices of everything we have bought at the cheaper prices, so no across the board price rises in our shop! Some things will go up in the new year but we are committed to stay as competitive as possible.

Stock.

As many of you may have noticed each week we have more and more stock in the shop. This really is in reaction to the feedback we get from you, so please, keep it coming. We are limited by the wall space we have and so the products we have in stock are just a fraction of what is available to us. If you are looking for anything in particular please ask.

We are also seasonally affected so have stocked up on lights, mudguards, reflectives, gloves and jackets to name but a few. Please ask for advise as to what would best suite your bike / need as there are so many options to choose from, from rechargeable lights to clip on mudguards, from overshoes to reflective tabards we have almost everything you will need to keep cycling safely throughout the winter.

We have some new locks from Kriptonite, pumps from Topeak, lights from Blackburn and Fibreflare, pannier bags from Agu and saddles from Brooks, (one of our favorites!). There is new stock from our clothing company Endura arriving every week along with new helmets from MET and a range of rucksack covers from Hump.

Any Other Business…

We hope you all enjoyed the St. John’s Hill street festival back in September. Overall it was a huge success, especially as we had a sunny day! A good time was had by all, we certainly had fun here in no part because we were given the responsibility of inflating balloons with helium! He he he. On a more serious note the event raised over £1800 for the St. John’s Hill Community fund, a fund to improve the area for residents and traders alike. So well done everyone for taking part.

A big thank you as always to all of our customers for your support and feedback. We couldn’t have done it without you. Our aim from the start was to open a professional workshop offering top quality repairs and servicing. The parts and accessories have been bought as we have grown while listening to what our local and regular customers would like to see in the shop. We continue to strive to be the best local shop we can be and are grateful for all of the support we have received from the local community.

And as a thank you we will he throwing a first birthday party in January, watch this space for further details…

And remember that we are open from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm on Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

(ALSO TAKE A LOOK AT THE UPDATED GALLERY PAGE)!!!

Firstly we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of you taking part in a Summer sportive, Triathlon, long distance ride whether they be in Britain or further afield. We have met so many people taking part in cycling events this year it is quite remarkable! We read back in the winter that this was the year of cycling events and boy o boy do those words ring true. What a great year for the bicycle!!!

Firstly a special congratulations to Felicity for completing the John O’ Groats to Land’s End ride without a single puncture! Well done, what an achievement Felicity! And thanks for the postcard!

A special congratulations has to also be extended to Charlie Starmer-Smith and team for their valiant completion of one of the most challenging cycle rides open to the public. L’Etape du Tour, the Pyrenean stage of this year’s Tour de France.

Charlie and friends rode the grueling 181 kikometres to raise money for Lymphoma Fund, a cause sadly close to Charlie’s heart. Months of fitness training was undertaken to prepare for the ride, more of which you can read about by following this link to Charlie’s blog on the Daily Telegraph website, ‘The Lycra Files’. To read about and support the fundraising please visit the Just Giving page.

Charlie and the boys

As Charlie’s local bike shop we here at The London Cycle Workshop were able to provide advice and bike servicing to the team helping to gear the boys up for the ride. It was a great pleasure to work with them and to see their progression through training leading up to the event. We were it has to be said, very proud to hear of their accomplishments, (via postcard and slightly intoxicated celebration phone call), and wish them all the best for future cycling jollies!!! And thanks for the postcard, as promised!

In a related bit of news it was a great great honor to be recently featured in The Saturday Telegraph’s cycling centre page story in the Travel section. The article is a recount of the L’Etape ride. In a related article, ‘Long-Distance cycling: recommended equipment’, The London Cycle Workshop gets a mention by name as a recommended repair shop for which we are very grateful. Having been open such a short period of time it is a testament to our customer service and high standards of repair work that we have had such positive feedback. We strive to offer the most professional, friendly and helpful service and welcome all feedback from our customers. Yet again we would like to thank all of our customers for their support of the shop. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thank You.

Shop news. Well where to start?

The workshop has been keeping us as busy as ever. As we enter what many say can be the quietest month locally with many people holidaying in August. We have noticed a slight drop in servicing work so it is worth mentioning our policy on storage. Pre-agreed storage longer term is not a problem and attracts no extra charges. So you can drop your bike off for a service before you go on holiday and collect it when you return. As we have mentioned before we are pretty flexible here, as long as we know what’s going on.

Having recently expanded the workshop area to accommodate an extra workstand we have being buying more and more specialist tools. These are expensive so it is a slow process but we are getting more and more equipped all the time. The next big job will be laying the new workshop floor, we are just waiting for a rainy day or two!

The other update to mention is our ever expanding number of supplier accounts. We can now get our hands on a bewildering number of parts and accessories, including frames, and so every week there are more and more new products in the shop. Check back in to see what is new, and please let us know what you would like to find. If you are after something in particular have a chat to Nick or I and we will try to source it for you.

St John’s Hill Festival – 12th September 2010.

It is now only a month to go until the second annual St. John’s Hill Festival! To find out more click here.

Almost all of the traders on the Hill will be putting on some kind of event or entertainment and we here at The London Cycle Workshop will certainly be involved.

Firstly we will have repair stands outside the shop staffed by qualified mechanics offering free labour on bike tune up’s, (no servicing it takes too long, parts not included). So feel free to turn up with your bike and we will be happy to iron out any niggling little problems!

Secondly we will have enlisted the team at Brockice to supply ice cream from the New Forest from traditional ice cream bikes. If all goes to plan one will be outside the shop and another will be touring the street so stop them and buy one!!!

And thirdly there will be a display from Luv Handles the Bike Boutique of traditional Dutch style bikes and accessories manned by our friend Mercedes. Visit her website for more info.

Right… That’s it for now. Please get in touch for more information about The London Cycle Workshop.

It has been a while since we last updated the webpage with news so there is plenty to tell, where to start…

The biggest news is out internal expansion. To meet growing demand for servicing and repairs we have extended the size of our workshop, (photos to follow). We now have two workstands, two sets of tools and an expanded storage capacity for spare parts. We have knocked down our kitchen, (which we had only just finished – sort of) and made the workshop much more spacious. It is working progress as the floor is still to go in, but it has completely revolutionised our workplace.

Two workstands of course means two workers! We are proud to announce that we have a new member of staff here at The London Cycle Workshop. A wealth of cycling knowledge with many years experience in the trade, coupled with an excellent talent in the workshop, Nick is warmly welcomed here as a full time member of staff, (staff section of website to follow – watch this space!!!).

This combination of a bigger workshop and twice the workforce means we can now handle an increased volume of repair and servicing work. Coupled with this we have re-designed our storage space so we now have capacity to store an increased number of bikes. This is a big step for us as a new business, and it has only been possible with the support of the local cycling community and the cycle commuters that come through our door. And even though we are going through a period of internal expansion, you can rest assured that the standards we work to will be as rigorous as ever. We pride ourselves on top customer service and advice coupled with a high quality of servicing and repairs.

For those of you that haven’t used us before let us remind you that we are a dedicated bicycle workshop offering servicing and repairs. The workshop is open for business seven days a week. We do not have an appointment system, instead opting to let customers bring their bikes in at a time and day that is convenient to them. We will then agree a deadline and work to that, whether it be a same day turnaround, or next day, we are open during the week from 7am to 7pm. For more details either check out the workshop page of the website that has a link to our current price list, or phone us on 020 3441 1044 for more details.

The stock in the shop is expanding at an incredible rate with hoards of new parts and accessories and clothing coming in week after week. For a small shop we now have an amazing choice for you the customers, good quality products at fair and competitive prices. We have accounts with most of the big suppliers in the cycle trade and can get our hands on an unbelievable number of products. If there is something you are looking for that we don’t have on the shelves, please ask and we will see if we can order it for you. We will be updating the ‘New Stock!’ page soon with a comprehensive list of all of the brands we have available.

Right that’s all for now, there is plenty more to announce but we will save that for next time. As usual we would like to extend a big Thank You to all of our customers past current and future, for their support. Without you, this small local independent bike shop would not be possible.

Well it’s been a busy few weeks as Spring has come upon us and the weather is warming. This is, traditionally, the busiest time of year for the bicycle workshops as more and more people take to their bikes. We here at The London Cycle Workshop have certainly been busy servicing and repairing bikes. As some of you may have noticed our small shop has been rammed full of bikes for servicing and collection!

It has been a few weeks since we have had a chance to update the website so it is long overdue with plenty of news to tell. As usual though we would like to start by thanking all of our customers for their support in these first few months of The London Cycle Workshop. Starting a new business is no easy feat and it would have been almost impossible if it wasn’t for the support we have received from the local community and cyclists in general. Thank You. You have all helped make this possible.

Stock on the shelves.

Over the past few weeks we have been increasing our level and depth of stock available. We have increased our range of Schwalbe tyres including the superb Marathon Plus commuting tyres which are proving very popular. We have more and more good quality cycling accessories from Topeak including a nice selection of pumps and tools. Speaking of which we have a great array of bicycle tools produced by Park, (to be found everywhere in our workshop), for those of you who like to turn your hand to a bit of bike maintenance. Our choice of Met helmets has grown, we now have over 20 different models colours and styles in stock including some execellent commuting and road models.

Riken and Keul, (Klickfix) offer a fantastic selection of baskets and shopping bags which can be attached to your bike with a neat quick release bracket system. We now have a good stock of all of their popular luggage solutions and offer a fitting service for these, and indeed all, accessories. With high levels of bike theft in the city we now offer an increasing range of Kriptonite locks, mainly D-locks. We have many different sizes in stock including the ‘New York Fahgettaboutit’, (get it? Forget About It…) which is widely regarded to be one of the strongest bike locks on the market. We also hope soon to stock Pitlock security skewers which prevent a bike thief walking off with your saddle or wheels. Click here to find out more.

On a lighter note we have taken delivery of a couple of new flavours of Mule Bars including Mango Tango and Summer Berry. Not only made with 100% natural ingredients, the company has a sound ethical policy supporting 1% for the planet. Sales from the Summer Berry bar also go towards sponsoring the Tour of Britain. And for a bit of extra comfort and performance along the way we are also taking delivery of an expanding selection of saddles from Brookes, (English handmade leather saddles) and Fi’zi:k, (lightweight performance road saddles).

Opening hours.

We are sticking to the opening hours we have with one update. Due to the local exodus over the Easter bank holiday weekend we have decided that whenever there is a bank holiday weekend we will be open the following hours:

Friday 0700 – 1900

Saturday 1000 – 1600

Sunday Closed

Monday Closed

Tuesday Midday – 1900

Then business as usual.

Some notes on the Workshop.

The workshop is why we are here. Repairing and servicing bikes is our passion here at The London Cycle Workshop. We believe in good service with free quotes and honest pricing with all work being carried out by qualified and experienced mechanics.

As we are becoming more and more established, and with the changing season, the shop and workshop is getting busier and busier. It is worth noting that although we will happily accept repair and servicing work over the weekend, Saturday and Sunday are increasingly becoming busier shop days meaning less and less workshop work can be done. For those whose bike repair or service absolutely needs to be completed before Monday morning we will honour any promises we make to get the work done.

We have also reached our storage capacity. As anyone in the bike trade will testify, bikes are an awful shape regarding storage! To stop the shop floor being completely taken over by bikes we are going to enact a maximum storage of 15 bikes. We are flexible, but until we address our storage shortfalls more permanently we think 15 bikes is a reasonable cap. We never want to be in a position where we have to turn work away because of a lack of storage space. Neither do we want to charge a storage fee to our customers as many of the other London bike shops do. We therefore make a plea to service and repair customers; after we have contacted you to let you know your bike is ready, please try to collect the bike promptly so someone else can bring their bike in for repair. Sound fair?
