Invest in a Sold Secure approved lock, the higher rated the better. Petty thieves steel bikes locked poorly, not because they look new or expensive. Simon.

Inflating your tyres once a week will decrease the risk of punctures and increase performance. Nicholas

Front and rear lights are essentially year round, being seen if is staying safe, the brighter the better. Tom Bernard.

An overdue Summer update…

It has been a while since we last updated the webpage with news so there is plenty to tell, where to start…

The biggest news is out internal expansion. To meet growing demand for servicing and repairs we have extended the size of our workshop, (photos to follow). We now have two workstands, two sets of tools and an expanded storage capacity for spare parts. We have knocked down our kitchen, (which we had only just finished – sort of) and made the workshop much more spacious. It is working progress as the floor is still to go in, but it has completely revolutionised our workplace.

Two workstands of course means two workers! We are proud to announce that we have a new member of staff here at The London Cycle Workshop. A wealth of cycling knowledge with many years experience in the trade, coupled with an excellent talent in the workshop, Nick is warmly welcomed here as a full time member of staff, (staff section of website to follow – watch this space!!!).

This combination of a bigger workshop and twice the workforce means we can now handle an increased volume of repair and servicing work. Coupled with this we have re-designed our storage space so we now have capacity to store an increased number of bikes. This is a big step for us as a new business, and it has only been possible with the support of the local cycling community and the cycle commuters that come through our door. And even though we are going through a period of internal expansion, you can rest assured that the standards we work to will be as rigorous as ever. We pride ourselves on top customer service and advice coupled with a high quality of  servicing and repairs.

For those of you that haven’t used us before let us remind you that we are a dedicated bicycle workshop offering servicing and repairs. The workshop is open for business seven days a week. We do not have an appointment system, instead opting to let customers bring their bikes in at a time and day that is convenient to them. We will then agree a deadline and work to that, whether it be a same day turnaround, or next day, we are open during the week from 7am to 7pm. For more details either check out the workshop page of the website that has a link to our current price list, or phone us on 020 3441 1044 for more details.

The stock in the shop is expanding at an incredible rate with hoards of new parts and accessories and clothing coming in week after week. For a small shop we now have an amazing choice for you the customers, good quality products at fair and competitive prices. We have accounts with most of the big suppliers in the cycle trade and can get our hands on an unbelievable number of products. If there is something you are looking for that we don’t have on the shelves, please ask and we will see if we can order it for you. We will be updating the ‘New Stock!’ page soon with a comprehensive list of all of the brands we have available.

Right that’s all for now, there is plenty more to announce but we will save that for next time. As usual we would like to extend a big Thank You to all of our customers past current and future, for their support. Without you, this small local independent bike shop would not be possible.

Opening hours…

Our opening hours will be the following…

Monday to Friday

0700 – 1900

Saturday

1000 – 1800

Sunday

1000 – 1600

Although we are now officially open there are still a hundred small jobs to be done in the shop. So outside of the above hours, if the lights are on someone is home! Feel free to pop your head round the door, especially if you’re a dab hand with a paint brush!

Stock on the walls…

We are constantly recieving more and more stock for the shop walls. For details of the latest arrivals please check out the New Stock page.

So far we have clothing from Altura and Endura, LED Wear and Knog…

Accessories from Cateye, Topeak, Knog and SystemX…

Tyres from Hutchinson, Continental and Schwalbe, (our brand of choice)…

Locks from Abus and Onguard, and Helmets from MET…

Is there something you’d like to see on our shelves? If so get in touch and let us know. You can either e-mail us; info@thelondoncycleworkshop, or leave a comment on this website by clicking on the topic heading and filling in the comment box at the bottom of the page. Or of course you can pop your head round the door!
