Well another month has gone by since the last update, and although the winter months are quieter than the summer in the workshop, we are still busy with repairs and servicing. We may have lost most of our fair weather cyclists by now, but the more hardy all year round commuters are still out in force.
We have been trying to rotate the stock in the shop to make space for the winter essentials. We have been stocking up on winter clothing including jackets from Altura, Montane and Logan,(see more below), skullcaps from Endura, gloves from DeFeet, Madison and Endura, socks from Endura and DeFeet, leggings from Altura’s Nightvision range, and thermal bibs in 3/4 length and full length. We have also taken delivery of our 2013 stock of Mavic shoes.
We have also been stocking up on winter accessories and parts. Cateye is our main light supplier for the winter, with a great new range of city lights. Keep an eye out form the Omni 3 and Omni 5, the Rapid and the rechargable front Nano shot lights, all are excellent and super bright. We have also been stockpiling excellent winter tyres from Schwalbe and Continental including the Marathon and Marathon Plus, and the superb Gator Hardshell, (Road.cc review) and 4season.
We have also added a number of smaller brands and products to our shop accessory range. These include:
Hand Knitted Cycle Ear Muffs by Louise:
Made of Merino wool, Louise has produced each pair by hand. Perfect to keep your ears warm on the daily commute through the winter!
An innovative bag for commuters, the Wingman was designed by a couple of guys who commuted by bike to work and needed to take business wear with them. This is a fantastic product, we here at The London Cycle Workshop are big fans, it’s just so well thought out and produced.
Winter Opening Hours…
After much thought, we have decided to copy last years opening hours. We will be closing Sunday the 23rd at 4pm, re-opening January the 2nd at 7am. Opening seven days a week all throughout the year, many days for 12 hours a day, we don’t get much of a chance to maintain the shop, workshop and storage areas. They all need a good service once a year – a bit of painting and decorating, building, cleaning and repairing. As we said last year, if during this period you are passing through, and the lights are on, then pop your head round the door by all means. And if not, then Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all, customers and friends past, current and future. Thank you for all of your great support throughout 2012, we couldn’t have done it all without you.
Saturday 22nd Dec – open as usual 10:00 to 18:00
Sunday 23rd Dec – open as usual 10:00 to 16:00
