I will admit now that it has been six months since we last posted a proper update on the website. Sorry, it has been a bit neglected. So today we are giving it a proper shake up with new posts and updates on every page. Where to start…
The Summer of Sport.
With Bradley Wiggins winning the Tour de France and the success that team GB had in the 2012 London Olympics, it has been a fantastic year for British cycling. This is adding more and more momentum to the rise of cycling in the UK, with latest data showing that journeys by bike are increasing steadily which is good for everyone. We here at The London Cycle Workshop have been working double time for almost all of the summer to keep up with servicing and repair demand. It is hard to say whether there is any correlation between the summer of cycling and the increased work load, it is equally likely that we are getting busier as we become more established. Either way, it was great to meet so many people that were enthusiastic about cycling this year and long may it continue.
A couple of pictures taken watching the time trial event. We were guests of Barnes Cycling Club, it was a top day out. Pictures courtesy of Paul.
Closer to home, the St Johns Hill festival.
For the forth year running the St Johns Hill festival fell on a day of glorious sunshine! It really did make the event and it was busier than ever, a real success.
We here at The London Cycle Workshop had our friends BrockIce here selling their New Forest ice cream, and we had work stands outside offering free tune ups as we have for the previous couple of years. This year we added a little challenge for the day…
It was almost impossible. Even we couldn’t get the hang of it and in the days leading up to the festival we were thinking of abandoning it as an idea. However, with cold tin of beer after work one day, and a mass of practise, we just about got the hang of it. Just. Well, sort of.
The shop is going from strength to strength, it just keeps getting better and better! We have continued to invest in stock based on customer requests and the walls really are now bulging, a vast difference from just a couple of years ago when we started. We are working with more and more suppliers to bring new brands into the shop. It’s looking good, have a look for yourself…
Right, that’s enough for now, more to follow soon. Thanks to all of you for your ongoing support of this shop. And check out the other pages to see all of the other web page updates. And don’t forget, you can keep up to date with all of the goings on of The London Cycle Workshop on Twitter by following the shop here.
One more thing.
The London Cycle Workshop has it’s first piece of branded merchandise!
